so I'M making the Cut

Post by Carbix »

so im going to be going with a strate pipe no cats with my 93 ss.

But im not sure if to go with the 3" or the 2.5....

I have 2.5 in and 3" out magnaflow that i can stick on that i got used for cheap. So im thinking cost in mind going with the 2.5 is going to be cheaper.

But having 3" is so nice... but is it going to be to loud

in any case its going to be a turbo back no cats...

Fixed the above for you.

Yes the 3" would be nicer, but extremely loud!

What kind of turbo are you running? What size downpipe? I doubt you are going to have boost creep.

I doubt you will see boost creep. If you are planning on going for more ponies you might as well just do it once and go 3".

Ummmm.....3.00" catless DP/MP to WRX axleback and sounds just about like a factory WRX LOL! Don't believe everything you hear about pipe diameter making it louder. The motor is 2.5L with VF39 turbo so go figure. Honestly, it's in the muffler/silencers ability to muffle the sound.

I'd go for the 3". I don't think there would be a huge sound difference with either set-up, seeing as how your not running a cat. The only real determining factor should be the muffler...
