If the stock rims fit over my brakes...

Post by Fkyx »

...will other 15" rims fit as well?

Image

I've got some Kumho's with about 5000 miles on them, but they're 15" rubbers, and I don't want to pay for another set of tires... and the car looks unusually good on 15's. But there's minimal clearance as it is. Will I have trouble fitting other 15's on there, or is the inside diameter generally the same?

i believe they would. you should go 16's though.

because they still look nice because they're larger AND tire companies make dirt/offroad tires for 16's, but not 17's. yayaya.

The offset has to be right. I'd also recommend going to 16". Tires cost the same, the handling is improved, and the ride doesn't suffer.

Right. I'd like to go 16, but I've already got a set of Kuhmo 15's that need a set of wheels in them. How would a +38 offset work out? Otherwise I'll try to find someone to sell them to.

38 is too little of an offset. You should be between 48-55.
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one

depends on the wheel, not the offset. Are those WRX brakes?

A few 15" rally wheels are all that fit over them. There are a few more options if you switch to 4-pots.

Tons of 15" wheels fit over the 276mm brakes.

Alright. It looks like I'll be selling the Kuhmos or something and going the 16" route. I only know of a few online retailers like tirerack, wheelsnext, edgeracing and discount tire... do you guys know of any others?
