EJ22T/20G Hybrid
My dad and I decided to swap out the old 2.0 shortblock over Thanksgivng break. We are now running with a closed deck 22T out of a low mileage 92' SS. The current heads on the car are just beautiful. Looks like they have less than 40,000 miles. We are running the 20G intake manifold, 22T harness and ECU. I am going to go pick it up this saturday so I can give you some driving impressions over the old 2.0L. Hope to have the car into the 13's with this setup. And will have a lot more torque and smoother power band for Auto-X. I ran a 14.2 at 96 at 16 psi on a VF8 with the old 2.0L. Hope to see some better numbers with the new EJ22G setup and the VF8 turned up tp 18-20 psi tuned on a PP6.
Pics up soon!

I also planned on doing a EJ22G with EJ20G heads & one of my ej22t shortblocks, but I'm holding off as I'm certain I could hit my goal of 13.99 1/4s on the EJ20G that was supposed to have its heads parted off for the ej22t.
I'm pretty sure my car is already @ my goal with 8.877 1/8s, but I want to get an official track time on this set-up.
I'm curious to see how your hybird performs, I'm sure it will run well.

Update!!!
First off, the torque, AMAZING difference in low end torque. There is no comparison between the 20G bottom end and 22T when it comes to that. After driving the 20G for a year, then swapping over to a rebuilt 22T shortblock, I can't believe it took me so long to finally make the swap!!!
It takes less gas to get moving from a stop, the clutch/gas transfer is minimal. It finally has enough torque to go up Germantown rd. in Portland in 3rd! Used to have to downshift at every turn. And perhaps the best part is having an active 5th gear, that you can still accelerate from at 60 mph to get up to freeway speeds (Idaho 75mph) The best part of all of this, after driving back from Portland to Idaho yesterday is my 28 mpg highway! What more can you ask for from a high 13 sec. car????

It was from a 93 JDM Legacy Turbo Wagon
Update!
As a few of you know, we have been very busy down at the shop lately! Sorry I haven't been able to update more, our time frame was very short. But now, the legacy is back in action! With a few new goodies;) Thanks to many friends I have been piecing together more parts to be installed this spring break. But, enough of the future, here's what we did over the last week!
Kory (koryh2009) and I drove to Portland on the 26th of Dec! We immediately pulled the motor out of my 91 Turbo. It was time to remove the torqueless 2.0 shortblock! Time for a closed deck 2.2T! We also threw in a few goodies to go with it, including ACL bearings and a (VERY) low mile JDM WRX crank. Everything was torn apart, checked, and checked again then given a clean bill of health.

Then, I decided to do a little dress-up. I got this idea from David at RalliTEK, and I personally think it looks bad-ass!

Then after we got all of this assembled, it was time to go back in!

The car runs better than ever! Smooth and beautiful idle, can't ask for more! My dad can sure build one hell of a motor!
Vid of start up!

Here she is all put back together, still needs to be cleaned up a little, but she sure looks pretty stock. New mods to add to the list include: JDM Forester high volume oil pump, ACL bearings, STi Group N Pitch Dampener, STi Group N 5MT Tranny Mount, STi Group N Motor Mounts, and to finish it off, a Diamond coil pack.

Not to nitpick Devan...but are you sure it is from a 93?livestrong14 wrote:It was from a 93 JDM Legacy Turbo Wagon
JDM 93 Legacies are BD chassis...and therefore Twin Turbo
Your new motor turned out great though! I are impressed...and can't wait to get mine done!
