Is adding a new muffler likely to reduce power?

Is adding a new muffler with 3.5 inch outlet likely to reduce the power of my car? I have a 94 legacy with an EJ20 engine. If so, by how much?

Thanks.

No. You'll still have all the back pressure from the smaller exhaust piping and the cats.

I'm assuming you don't have a turbo'd car...

I got better sound, power, and mileage after adding just a muffler to my stock exh. Do it!

And you probably have an EJ22. Where you from, partner?
