Too low?

Post by totech »

Here are three pictures of my car recently.

I just installed GC8 Springs and Struts. Ride is much better - I had to give my BH back its Snow tires - size 205/65-15. Really too big.

I will take some on the stock 185/70-14's

I need to know - is it too low?

Too low? That's perfect! Absolutely perfect! Those are 70 profile tires? I don't think you could get a better height... As long as you're not bottoming out, which you shouldn't be, that's great. I like it!

Naa,

Those pictures show the 205/65-15's

On the 14's - lower - My trailer hitch dragges leaving some parking lots.

Love the snow!

But the diameter on 65-15's is about the same as 70-14's isn't it? Don't have a calculator in front of me, correct me if I'm wrong...

You'd love the snow even more with a 4WD wouldn't you? :o

The 205/65-15's are larger than 205/50-16's which are optimum for our cars.

These tires are bigger than the 205/55-16's on the BH wagon.

I would guess them to be 5/6% larger than the 185's

Offset is great too - stick out well

Yeah, had a little storm tonight, freezing rain, snow - and I was stuck on Michelin x-one's too hard and quiet to be useful in snow and ice.

4wd was great though... Got home and took the car with the winters for a spin - grip galore! Woo Hoo!!

Can you give more detail on the ride quality and what you were driving on before i.e. original strut/spring, aftermarket struts etc. and would this combo work on a '92 sedan.

thanks, Jim
