ok 1990 legacy wagon 2.2L MT 4WD coming down the back side of a hill after passing somebody got up to around 95 and was back to like 80 when i just lost all my power so i look at the tach and its bouncing back and forth from 1000-2000rpm for about 30 seconds than it just dies completly!!!! I check for fuel and the pump is still working. im not sure about spark and it cranks like it has plenty of vlttae so i dont think its the alternatior.
just as a side note im not sure if its an old code or a new one but it has code 13 which i believe is the crank angle sensor....my front cam oil seals have been leaking for awhile so i was wonder what your guys thoughts were on the oil shorting that sensor out??? just a rndom thought

But any Help would be awesome since im 50 miles from home with a broke car :(

Thanks
Ben

Maybe your timing belt skipped a tooth or a bunch atleast. Seems like often instant failure is usually that. Could even be bad fuel yet VERY rare.

Still could have skipped a tooth though.

The tensioner could have failed, causing the skip. Happened to me once when I stopped for gas.

check the crank bolt. you may have the good old sheared keyway if its loose.

My obdII Impreza will not run f the cam pos sensor is not plugged in.

I'd think the leggy would not run or run badly with a bad crank pos sensor.
