WTB - Turbo Master Cylinder

Post by BAC5.2 »

Hey guys,

My current brake setup is almost identical to my old SS (with the exception of now larger rear brakes, and the 1" SF MC).

So I'd like to complete the swap with the brake master cylinder from an SS.

Anyone got a good condition one for sale? The fewer the miles, the better.

Thanks!

Phil

Have you considered just getting a newly remanufactured master cylinder? I bought mine at Advance for about $60.

I haven't considered that. I'll check with Advance.

Got a part number? If it's only $60 I'll just get new-reman, as long as it is DEFINITELY 17/16".

I don't have a part number; I just asked them to look up a master cylinder for my car. So tell them you have a 93 Subaru Legacy Turbo with ABS and a manual transmission.

If it's for an ABS model, it will definitely be 1-1/16". Subaru didn't make any other size master cylinders in this form factor with only two ports, as far as I know.

You can confirm by looking at the casting on the outside of the cylinder -- it'll have the bore size cast right into the aluminum.

I also have a 91 Turbo Legacy brake master cylinder if you need it (as well as the big ABS unit behind the passenger headlight).
