WRX TR seats f and r
What would the fitment of these seats be in my '91 Legacy SS? Are they going to fit, would the position be ok as far as height and knee room, seatbelt mods of some sort? Any other issues?

I put 03 WRX front seats in my SS a month ago.
They fit. However;
-They will bolt into the exsisting holes with the exception of the rear inside bolt. This last bolt will line up perfectly with where the seat belts are bolted down. So you will need remove your existing seat belt bucle and bolt the seat in it's place.
-My seats didn't come with the seat belt bucle, but I'm told they were incompatible anyway. So the Extra long bucle looks rediculous sticking up from it's new home (bolted to the seat itself) but they work. I'll find a solution to this someday.
-The seats DEFINETLY sit higher (this is a source of debate in other threads) Luckily the driver side seat has good height adjustability. I'm 5 foot 9 and I have to recline the seat a little more than I'd like when I'm wearing my helmet. The pasenger seat does not height adjust however, and my 5'6" copilot/girlfriend hates that she has to sit so far back with her helmet on. I'd say it's 2 inches higher.
Width wise, they touch various places arround the edges, but this has no ill effect as far as I can see.
Knee room seems fine.
As far as the rears go IMHO forget about it!!! Too much trouble. Maybe someone else has had a better experience.
But the asking price seems very fair even if you don't take the rear.
Over all, IMO for the price, a nessisary Legacy turbo mod.

Yep, they all bolt in.
The only issue I had putting in my 01' RS seats was the fact that the rear seat was out of a coupe. Still looks perfect, just has a small 2" gap near the fuel tank tunnel, can't even be seen unless looking for it.
They do sit higher, I compared it to having the stock seat height adjustment lever all the way up top.

I just put the seat all the way up and sat in the car. My head brushes the headliner a little. Not sure I like that. I'll have to drive like that and see how I like it. Don't want to hit my head when going over a bump. Maybe as I get older, my spine will compress and my body will be shorter! I'm just under 6' now.
I have not looked , but can you cut a section out of the rails and reweld them together to get lower?

Trevor still rocks the WRX backseats in his '94 wagon. We claim it to be the only one in the world that has 'em, too. 
*shrug* So far I haven't seen or heard of anyone else having WRX backseats (with the dope headrests) in their wagons.
If you're looking for decent bolsterage and a lower seat, I suggest custom bracketing a pair of FC3S seats. (that's circa 89-Whatever-ones-came-before-the-kind-torretto-drives) I had them in grey, for a time, and besides the bad welding/bracket-modetry, I liked 'em. High-back cloth seats, great bolstering, comfortable, rode LOWER than stock seats AND on top of that, leaving PLENTY of underseat storage space- they weighed approximately 5lbs less than Turbo seats. They even matched my interior. But like I said, the bracket-modetry sucked, so I took 'em out.
I don't mean to divert you, but if you're looking for a better seat, I'd hunt down a set of FC seats -- they might be the compromise you're looking for.

To get those TR seats from California to Washington would have cost $380 UPS, $500 moving company, $800 freight shipped. Not practical.
Instead I locally bought all black fronts and rear '05 WRX, from a 12k mi. car. They look very nice.

Do it PLEASE, I'd really like mine to be lower. It'd be nice to have my co-pilot sitting like Nicky Grist in the pic on the home page. having a problemo
Right now there is a installation problem. The inboard mounting bracket does not match up with the stock location. When you line up the outboard bracket with the holes in the floorboard, the inboard bracket is about 3" to far forward to match up with the holes. These are '05 WRX seats. Need to eat some tacos, and then do some searching on here to see if I can figure this out. Any ideas, team?
I don't know about model years but when I installed my Recaros with the generic WRX bracket it didn't look like the holes lined up until I got the front two cranked down and the inside (drive shaft tunnel) rear torqued down. THEN the outside rear lined up. So I'd work front to back. I think I tried back to front and had alignment troubles. Also, you won't use BOTH tunnel holes one will need be abandoned but you'll see which one. Put the bolt back to keep water out...Good luck!

Or you could buy the generic Recaro rails and have the darn thing lowered an 1" from the get go...Might want to give Speedware a call in the morning and pump them for info...

Is the outboard slide tied to the inboard?
Looks like you can release the slider using the normal means and grab the outboard slider to move it into place. The bolt holes should align if it can be moved up seperate from the other one.
