What it's like to drive now, well, I'd say that the one thing that
makes the biggest difference is that the "boost builds up sooner" if
you catch my drift... when it hits 3000-3100rpm, it really GOES, when
it earlier needed almost 3400-3500rpm before it started moving.
The boost is now rising to 1.35bar (max), and of course, that's not
soooo nice, but I put a bigger bleed valve (0.7mm) on my boost
solenoid, and the car works fine. The previous owner (and builder) of
the exhaust said that his non-chipped Legacy also raised the boost
till 1.2bar, and that caused some problems for him too, too bad he
didn't know the "cheap way" of regulating it...
Regarding the dyno chart... if you're strange, then there's two of
us, cause I can't get that much out of them either, but the figures
are quite relevant, aren't they. The text is in finnish, but as you
can se, ~355Nm/3850rpm torgue and ~192kW/5650rpm are quite nice
figures, if I may say so myself.
I shot some pics the other day of my (very dirty) yellow car, and as
soon as I get them developed, I'll scan'em (noop, no digital camera
in our house...) and put them on my website.
cheers,
Miguelito
PS. the sound from a straight (=non-cat) pipe is REALLY something...
