The gauge does look nice there.

My pillar pod holds just 2 gauges(pyrometer/boost), so I'm planning on putting my AFR & Trans Temp gauges in the same position (1 on the left & 1 on the right) if the mounting cups arrive today.

My SS has 118k on it (118,6xx on the body, 63,xxx on the EJ20G) I think Soarer's had something like 84K on it, but very good mileage any way you cut it!!!

Wow that boost gauge looks really clean right there!

Any idea if that website you posted for the FCD is still up and running? Like is he still in business? I tried emailing him, but I still haven't received an answer.

all I did was do the "add to cart" at the bottom of the page here:

http://www.monasdivas.com/tmp/FCD/

about a week later my FCD showed up. great instructions, and quick install.

Why and how is it safe to turn up the boost after doing nothing more than putting an intercooler on the car. Intercoolers tend to increase knock in my limited experience without a tune.

With the stock VF11 turbo and injectors, you can boost up to ~14 PSI.

What injectors? What are you using to make the injectors flow more? I have heard this since I first came to the board in 2004, but only now that I am starting tuning do I see some issues with the thinking. Of course if you can adjust the fuel it makes a ton of sense, but I was saying nothing but an intercooler and a MBC. How is that safe?

For example an Impreza will have more knock when going from a stock TMIC to a FMIC on the stock amount of boost until the fuel is properly tuned.

I meant with the stock turbo and stock injectors (which are 370 cc/min), that 14-15 PSI should be safe.

If you want to tune it, install a piggyback like the PP6 or the something of the like.

Right why is that safe? Just because the charge air is cooled doesn't mean that the knock is negated. Please explain.

I'm not saying that you won't have any knock. Maybe a few counts here and there.

But fine, if you want to look at it like that. Don't run more than 9 PSI (stock boost) without an intercooler and some type of engine management.

All I'm saying, is that many people have been able to run ~14 PSI on the stock turbo, with stock injectors, intercooler and larger exhaust and they haven't blown the motor.

But I can understand being safe about it. If you are that worried about it, get a knock counter with EM and you'll be set.

The turbo will just be blowing a lot of hot air though...

VF11s are out of steam around 12 psi
