ECU swap

So, would it be possible, to say swap the ECU into a Sport Sedan from like a v3 STi?

I'll be running STi Heads (20k) and was thinking, ya know... that has to be better than the Stock SS ECU and standalones are spendy.

What would that entail? Would I need to re-do the wiring and stuff or would it just swap in?

Thoughts?

A ton of wiring...especially because the V3 is, I believe, OBD2...

V3 & V4 ECUs are OBDI, but are physically different than V1-2 (+SS) ECUs in that they have 3 plugs instead of 4 so the plugs will have to be cut/ removed & connected to the correct pin on the V3 ECU (alot of wiring).

If you look @ the pin-out for a V1-2 WRX & compare it to a SS pinout you'll see the wiring is almost exactly the same so these would be a more plug & play solution to a OEM ECU upgrade.

For the V1 and V2, or even the BC/BF Ej20G, go look in the "Electronics help, PFC into EJ22t" thread. Most of the details on how to get it done are in there.
