Indiana Jones and Those Darn Kids

Post by PhyrraM »

Well, they did it to me. I'm now actually looking forward to the new Indy movie.

After my kids getting literally bombarded into the ground with Indiana Jones propaganda on Nickalodian and Cartoon Network my wife went out and bought the first 3 movies for them to watch. (thriftstore, $1.00 VHS tapes).

Of course I watched them too, for the first time in 10+ years. So, after spending the better part of the last year saying "Man, Harrison Ford is too old and it's going to suck", I'm now actually looking forward to the new movie. Advertizing sucks.

I don't expect it to be great, but I was always a fan of the personality of those movies so I might go see it.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

I hope they still have terrible fates for Nazis/bad guys in the new one. It would be a shame to tone it down for kids.

went and saw the midnight opening tonight

there are definately some terrible fates for the "russian natzi-esque F'ers", my fave was the "rocket wake inferno"

but as an avid movie fan, I was dissappointed this movie had Spielbergs name on it. I was definately expecting some character and plot development and this was not delivered. no time was spent trying to earn the interest of the viewer, they assumed they already had it.... even though I love Indy, this is too big of an assumption to make if you are a real director
