Type of plastic
I have a plastic piece that mates with a silicone hose on the bottom of my TMIC. It keeps blowing off because it was cut and there's nothing really holding the hose onto it. I have a plastic welder at work I can use to fix this issue by welding a bead around the circumference of the piece where it connects to the silicone hose. The problem is this. The plastic I'm welding and the plastic rods used in the welder MUST be the same kind of plastic and I can't tell from looking at the plastic what type it is. Does anyone know what kind of plastic is commonly used for high heat applications in cars like this?

Are you sure it's even a thermoplastic? That said, could be Nylon. If it is, make sure it's hot and mix the rod with the base material well.
