Didn't they say he was transported to the hospital?

I've never seen a crash were the car kept straight the whole way down the track as a fireball. I always thought the area after the 1/4 mark was fairly long, but seeing a car shoot through it 300mph it suddenly looks really, really, really short :shock:

We were doing an informal frame-by-frame analysis at work here, it looked like he was in control of the car, but the brakes were obviously inop, chutes burned away, and when he hit the sand trap, the car nosed in hard and vaulted right over the stop net... looks like he landed right on the cherry picker parked behind the wall.

Brutal crash...

Looks like the lawyers at ESPN are having a good time, enforcing their copyright agreements and whatnot.

Back in the day this wouldn't have happened... or at least, been as bad. I remember as a kid, my Dad told me stories about the way Englishtown used to be setup;

There was no wall there. A car whose chute didn't pop would end up running right off the track and careening through miles of farm crops. I guess with the housing developments that are/will be there within 20 years, that retaining wall had to be built.

Still, you have to wonder the outcome if the wall wasn't there.... R.I.P Kalitta.
