Wheel adapters/spacers

Post by Spitfire999 »

I have had my eye on a set of wheels, unfortunately they are 5x114.3 bolt pattern. I know it is possible to get spacers that convert from 5x100 to 5x114.3, obviously I am aware that it is not the best thing for longevity of the wheel bearings, but I'm just looking at making my car a good looking DD at the moment (in college and can't afford major mods).

So, Do you think I could get away with 1 inch spacers that change the bolt pattern? As long as they arn't terrible, and don't look stupid I'm fine with them.

Opinions?

Hmm, 1 inch is a bit thick... what is the offset of the wheels you are looking at? If they're aftermarket with around 35-40mm offset, you should be OK, but stock Subaru STI, or aftermarket with proper 50-53mm offset will be sticking out of the fenders.

Just don't go rallying or offroading, you should be fine with normal street use.
