I'd say keep the high setup. I always cringe when I see big lights down low on cars that are set up for less than ideal road conditions. All it would take is one rock or a dirt crest to eliminate those lower lights from the picture. Up high fits the rally style of the first gen Leg a bit more IMO. After all, they did carry the SWRT until the Impreza came around.

No they don't bounce. I took out the grille and drilled four 17/32" holes all the way thru the bumper beam and used 3/8" bolts and lock nuts.
And YES Spencer, there is a little hood scoop. Got the hood from beatersubi (Stephan) for a REALLY good price. AND put a deposit on my SS bumper.

You need a turbo grille, is what I think
.
Seriously though, they look, and prolly work, better up high.

At this point there is NOOOOOO room for a grill. Maybe if someone would help me make some brackets I would put a grill back in. (hint, hint)

Fogs actually work better down low as they're designed to cut under the fog and wide. But I had mine mounted in a similar manner, for the same reason of protection, and they still worked well. Look better, too.
