BOV Question

Post by cj91legss »

I received a blowoff valve from a friend and am wanting to put it on my car, already have front mount and i'm wondering does it matter where at on the piping it goes, should it be closer to the turbo, closer to the throttle body, or in the middle somewhere?

Ok sounds good to me.

Now second question, Does the BOV have to be right on the pipe or could i maybe have it like 6 inches off the pipe so i could actually fab a bracket to mount it to my firewall or whatever i mount it to?

I ask because i have an Apexi Blow off valve and it's pretty heavy and it's already got a flange made for it but it's steel flange with a steel tube coming off it and my ic piping is aluminum greddy with a round spot coming off it for a bov. i have my stock resirc rinning off that right now.

My BOV with crappy flange/pipe welded.

Basically i covered on end of the 2 inch piping and blew threw the other end and i can feel air coming threw the weld. it's also steel and i have aluminum piping.

I have no idea who did the welding but it's all bad.

bump for opinions on having the BOV come off the intercooler piping a few inches
