hello all,

my ac compressor on the 91 legacy went dead on me and i was looking for a used replacement.

anyhow, i got a 92 calsonic model and my mechanic told me that it's not quite the same.

anyone have a picture or can verify. i have a picture but can someone host the pic?

The Calsonic compressors came in the Legacy Turbo and the SVX, all (most?) others got another brand. Not interchangeable without changing the lines as well, the ports are different.

Per Yat, the top compressor is the original and the bottom one is the one that came out of the 92'.

the question is whether the top one is a zexel?

anyone else can confirm that the 91 calsonic is different from the 92 calsonic?

I looked at the parts book and 90/91 compressors are the same, while 92/93 is a different part all together.

placed an order for a new AC compressor calsonic model for a 91 legacy.

hope it won't get mixed up. thanks for the information.

the shop purchased it and it's the same as the 92 model calsonic......somehow, i knew this would happen, even though the sales guy assured me that it should fit......

anyhow, i am going to take the compressor back from the shop and take pictures and send it off to the supplier......

okay....latest update and i hope this would help others.

my 91 legacy ac compressor also is a calsonic brand but it's a different model than the 92 legacy. the problem is in the fitting location.

The diesel-kiki version is the right one. i should have the new compressor tomorrow.

I bought a brand new compressor from Subaru and it came with new lines.

You can try and find ac lines from the 92 MY and use the 92 compressor.
