No tranny cooler lines?

Post by Saskatoon Subaru »

So my 91 SS started leaking coolant the other week from what look's like the water pump, so today i start looking into the problem, as i'm removing the rad to gain some room, I notice there is just upper and lower rad hoses.

So my question, is there anyone who has seen this or currently running without these cooler lines?

thanks

stick (manual trans) cars will not have the "cooler" lines, that's 4EAT only. If your car is 4EAT, and has no cooler lines you have bigger problems looming, as someone probably looped the cooler lines due to having to change the radiator,a nd putting a stick radiator in it....

need to look around under there again...

its a 4eat stock rad, nipples are there for the cooler lines but the lines seem non-existent.

I just find it weird you'd think there's be some sort of effect from this. I've owned the car since last august, took it on a 6hr highway trip, raced it at the track, never missed a beat.

have to take a closer look and see where the lines went.

Trans lines come up the driver side of the trans, and should have hoses that jump from the trans lines to the engine bay lines right near the starter. From there they go forward on the driver side inner fender well, under the battery and up to the radiator nipples. The only places to loop the lines is by the starter, and below the battery.

Did someone put a aftermarket trans cooler on it and re-route the lines to that???
