95 Legacy rear antisway bar mount

Post by drsevy »

One of my rear antisway bar mounts broke - the thing that holds the bushing to the frame. The frame bolts are still there. The metal around the bushing failed or rusted out.

Question - would the heavy duty mounts that are sold for the impreza '93 on work with the correct size bushing ? The kit is sold with a 20mm bush and I think mine is like a 19mm or 17mm ?

The kit is sold through subarugenuine parts.com

Are you referring to the u-shaped metal bracket that holds the actual bushing, or the rectangle of metal sandwiched between the frame and bushing holder?

Either way, pretty much anything you order will work, just measure your bar carefully first, get the right size bushing.

brackets from an 04-07 Impreza are reinforced over the stock ones and will be your best and cheapest bet. They also use different clamps though so you will need to find bushings that are the right size. Whiteline sells a variety of urethane bushings separately for all the different styles of subaru swaybar mounting brackets. Otherwise maybe there is an 04-07 impreza with a bar the same size as yours that you could get the bushings from. Oh and rubber bushings a mm smaller will work.
