Oil return line under high pressure?

That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

Oil return line under high pressure?

Post by BSOD2600 »

During my install of the TD05, I ran into a slight problem getting the oil return line 'securely' hooked up. It would be this line, for those in question:

When installing the turbo, I lubed up that tube and slid/wiggled the turbo into place and the uppipe. I was unable to get the metal clasp up around the tube, once the new turbo was installed. So while now it appears to be half-way up the turbo's oil return line, there is nothing securely holding it there except for friction.

1) How the hell do you do anything with that freaking tube? Even with the turbo gone I couldn't get at it.

2) Is the oil return line under high pressure and will eventually be squirting/leakig oil? During brief test driving, it appears to be ok.

The return is under little to no pressure...

The easiest way to get at it is to remove the uppipe, but that is a bitch, so just get the return tube on there as best you can
