JDM STi v.5/6 suspension?

Does anybody run JDM STi suspension (stuts/springs) on their Legacies? I'm curious as to ride height vs. stock, and if anything besides normal GC fitment issues arise.

a full set will work great.

except those sets have quite a few miles on them by now and struts go downhill pretty quickly after 50k or so.

Yeah, that's a good point.

How would you rate the springs performance-wise as opposed to aftermarket?

I run STI Tarmac/gymkhana springs on my Impreza wagon for Autox. They have excellent spring rates and provide a very firm ride when coupled with struts that have enough dampening power. I believe the suspension sticky gives example spring rates to give you some ideas.

What do you want to use the setup for?

n2x4 - yeah, I saw the listed rates. I plan on using this for daily driving (the SS is my fun commuter) and the occasional autocross.

I am currently debating AGX or G2 struts, and may just go with the G2's since I won't be racing the car.

There is a set of v.5 STi suspension available locally, but in light of the comments on used struts, I may just get new ones and consider the STi springs only.

So, STi springs + G2 struts, or should I get new aftermarket springs too?

Well,

Lets say the stock strut is designed to handle dampening for the stock spring with a rate of 132lb.

A GR2 is roughly equal to stock strut + 15%. So it's good for a rate of
132x1.15=152. As I said, that's rough, so I could see the GR2 working well with Eibach, whiteline, intrax, etc.

A AGX has 4 settings for the front (8 in the rear). It's max is stock strut +123 so
132x2.23= 294lb.

Version 5&6 springs are all in the low 200lb. range, which mates up very well with the AGX at setting 3 or 4.

Those numbers are not 100% correct, but they should give you a rough idea of what to expect.

I say that if you get a good deal on the STI, go with those and the AGX.

Very good, that explains a lot. I'll see what I can do....
