Funny starting problem WTF?

Post by japanesecowboy14 »

Tried to start my 94 legacy today & I have a feeling the ECU reset or maybe the fuel pump relay tripped... The car would crank, but just cough for about 5 minutes, and finally when it DID start, the car coughed alot as I was putting the throttle down... almost sounds as if an injector got clogged or something? either that or the ecu decided to re-learn everything? Car started right up ever since then, i just was wondering wtf that was all about so I can prevent it later.

Coolant Temp. Sensor. Search for that. That's what my '91 used to do. It wouldn't even code over it but once I replaced it the problem never ever happened again.

Yeah, i just remember the RPMs coughed for a bit when I modded my airbox, so I thought the ECU went back into learning mode, but I'll keep all suggestions open so this doesn't happen to the point to where it WONT start
