well i just got my back from the technitians scapel, and i'm got ~150 lbs.
of compression in 3 of 4 cylinders.. Cyl. #2 only has 100lbs. It will run,
but not tip top. =(
SOOOOOO... seeing as how i have such wonderful access to subaru parts from
my new job, i'm going to start a project engine. Most likely a low
compression supercharged jobbie or try to build it to get the ultimate
highway milage.

Bad compression and 1 new engine...
Now when did this happen? I don't remember hearing anything 'bout this?
You should be getting that turbo 2.2 block, Jay.

Bad compression and 1 new engine...
Jason-Sorry about the news; I`m going through the same thing, but it was
suggested that I may have cam lobes that are worn & may contribute to the
lower cylinder reading. Interesting that in 3 cases posted here, only 1 cyl
has been down & the rest perfectly ok. Anyone else run into this? Also, I
posted to Scott @ Subaru parts & never heard a thing; I used your name as a
referral. Maybe @ your new job you can help with a used, late set of 2.2 NA
heads & cams that`ll fit my `92 motor. I`m planning on sending them to Trey
@ Cobb tuning for sreet-type headwork & cam profile + a boost in compression
to about 10.5 to 1 (Ialready have to run premium due to a piggy-back chip).
Any info woukd be appreciated-ROD (somewhere in No. Az.)
