AWD not working after vehicle has sat?

Post by ericem »

Hi, I was just curious if this is possible, but the AWD is not working on my SS at all. It has 193,000km on it. Transmission shifts perfect drives amazing. Just no AWD. Not even a attempt at kicking in. Now It looks like the car has been sitting for a few months. Is it possible this is creating a issue? Maybe like the valve body is clogged? Right now, had to pull the plates, need to get some brakes and then go in for certification. Then I can get the car on the highway for a long trip and hopefully the AWD will work again. Going to do a tranny fluid change before I start driving it as well.

I noticed sometimes the power light is flashing and get a duty solenoid c code. Yet no torque bind, and no awd engagement. Still not driving the car full time. Car is in the shop waiting to get certified. Will start driving it full time probably monday, that is when I can get it on the highway for a few hours to get things to circulate a bit and hopefully the awd will start working. I did replace the transmission fluid to didn't look to bad.

At 190,000km is like 110k miles. Which isn't THAT much mileage. Just don't know the history. What I did notice is there are different tires on the front and rear. Same tread depth pretty well though and tire size. So they are Definitely pretty close. Suspicious either way. Need to check the voltage going to the duty solenoid c. I think ill just unplug it from the tcu and see if it binds up. Still kind of confused how the solenoid work. Is it basically just a valve? Or is it turning something in the valve body.

If you look here...http://cid-4ca3c3459aaa7f7f.skydrive.li ... px/.Public There is a pdf called 4eat-phase I, in there you will find a good description of how it works. There are other 4eat manuals too.
