So Im plannin on switching to 2.5 dohc heads. Of course the 2.2t manifold doesnt work.
Im using Phase 1 heads (I believe) I wanna end up using top feed injectors. Now which manifold should I look for or use?
Thanks

Most common in the North America is from the EJ25D. Basically the 2.5 liter DOHC non-turbo engines. Ran from '96-'99 in the Legacy and Forester. Also used in the '98 Impreza 2.5RS.
JDM imorts that will fit are the EJ20G, EJ20K, EJ20H,EJ20R. EJ20G is the easiest to fit in a BC Legacy if you've got a complete manifold, including fuel rails, water lines, PCV, EVAP etc.

from my findings i found out that phase 1 fit all phase 1 and vice versa for phase 2

I assume your talking a USDM WRX or STI. If so, niether will work without what amounts to a wiring swap. The cam sensors on either of those haeds are not compatable with the Legacy SS ECU.scootledoo wrote:so a question then, i got a stock 91 ss.
and im looking to put on 2.5 heads and intake manifold.
off ether a wrx or sti. woundering if that would work?
There are tons of posts about DOHC heads on our blocks, but the short story is you need phase 1 DOHC heads and a compatable intake manifold. The easiest is most likely getting both from a JDM EJ20G. The most common is getting them from a '96-'99 EJ25D (Legacy, Forrester, '98 2.5RS).

An EJ20D NA manifold from a 1989-1993 NA Legacy 2.0l will also fit. I only mention this because I have one hanging on the wall of my shop and a little bird told me the OP of this thread thought it was pretty and wanted to know if it was for sale.
