Running non OEM wires

Post by ericem »

Just want to verify. My car does not have OEM wires. I am going to buy NGK wires. Only thing I notice is my idle is not 100% steady and I get shivering. Already seafoamed the engine, IAC, replaced the plugs as well. Sound like it could be the wires? Been looking hard for anymore broken hoses but everything looks fine.

Did you gap your plugs?

No, they are pregapped should be fine, either way, didn't really notice any difference and the old plugs were very worn out, the element at the end was damaged. Also replaced my coil ignitor with a diamond one, again no real difference.

pre-gapped? Did you at least check the gap? an out of spec gap can make a car run rough.

The NGK blue wires are great.
