Hmmm. Just put it on very carefully (so it lines up well) and make sure the chrome is clean before hand. Mine has been on for about a year now and hasn't fallen off and it's been through heat, rain snow and dirt.

There's tape that's made for that kind of stuff. Pretty much the same vinyl material that pinstripes are made of. An autobody supply store or a shop that does decals and stripes and stuff could probably hook you up.

The 3m stuff works great. It's like $1.99 a roll, "Plastic Tape" I blacked out the trim on my BMW with paint and I couldn't keep it from chipping so I just taped it, the 3M tape lasted me over a year without any bubbles or peeling or anything. It has to be on a straight surface though, so you can't use it in a place that bends, like the C pillar, but the curvature of the trim pieces is fine.
I am going to be doing mine using some gloss black vinyl graphic decal stuff that ricers use to put like flames and dragons and shit on their doors
,i suspect that it will work quite well, cheap to buy and easy to use as well.

I just did all of the side and bumper trim and tail lights with the 3M plastic tape. It looks amazing, and was super easy, line up the top, run a knife on the bottom to trim, but be careful not to let the knife get out of the ridge, and don't press too hard. Turns out it's $2.99 for the thin roll, $3.99 for the thick. The thin is easier to work with, but you get half as much, I needed I think 3 rolls of the thin stuff.
Electrical tape from Lowes...looking good for 8 months and counting!
Great (cheap) mod - don't wait to do it!

That's what I'm talking about...but if you go to a body parts supply store they have some specifically for automotive use - not much more expensive but harder to get than in your hardware drawer in the kitchen! <Grin>

I will do it! There's a body shop about 20 mins from here. Is it that much better or should I just grab my electrical tape and head straight over to my parents house and do it now?

I'm saying it is not better but honestly I've only tried the one kind. How much better could it be? Tape is tape? Dunno. For the 20 minutes and 40 cents worth of tape it takes to do it you can always peel it off. Oh, perhaps a warm day offer the best results for tape pliability? And remember not to pull the tape hard or it will stretch. Clean car and rubbing alcohol off the trim with cotton balls first. Amazingly grimy...Good luck!

Alright I'm going out there now. Camera is coming with me. It's at my parents house across town so maybe I'll get pics up tonight.
