Best place to buy Whiteline sways?

Post by skid542 »

I'm in need of a whiteline rear adjustable sway bar to get my car to pivot as I want it to do during Auto-X. I've heard a lot of good things about the Whiteline sways and I've been happy with their RCA kit.

But, I'm not sure where the best place to get them is, i.e. cheapest and fastest shipping.

I'm currently thinking the 20-24mm and a set of rear endlinks as there's a few reports of the stock ones not being able to reach properly on the adjustable sways. I'll be running stock mounts for the time being too.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Lee,

I saw you mention the RCA kit. Were you aware there was a recall on the first two versions of the kit? I found this out on NASIOC a few weeks ago..

Woah, no.

Do you have a link to this Nate? Why did they recall it? I guess I need to dig into my rercords now and see when I bought it.

Lee, I think I posted on this a while back. You probably found the thread.

any whiteline rca out there is the new kit by now. One problem they had was with the boot melting on track cars, and another was that some balljoints would move a little in the spindle. They've fixed both problems and I wouldn't worry about the new ones.

As for the swaybars, pick your favorite vendor that sells whiteline and they can order them for you. I got mine from Robispec a few months ago.

New ones as of November are fine yes, but if you've had yours for a while, chances are they're the recalled ones. I know mine were.

From NASIOC thread http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... p=24433012
-------------------------------------------
G’day everyone,

Well the good news is that the new KCA313 ball joints arrived in the US late last week and should be delivered to Global any day now. We got our stock here today and have rushed through a picture to post on the forum.

Main points;
  • Redesigned body with every dimensions subtly changed.
  • Redesigned stud profile for closer fit
  • Thicker, redesigned boot. Still using high temp silicon but using a more durable design, thicker moulding and with more careful packaging to minimise transit damage.
  • Redesigned internal cage for better stud control and support.
Our engineers are confident that this will deliver the goods and they’re looking forward to your feedback, hopefully soon. Note that you can also spot the new model thanks to the laser engraving on the OD of the body. Now, to answer some questions;

EarlQHan, appreciate the vote of confidence, it really gives our guys a lot of satisfaction. Unfortunately we don’t have any real plans for a more radical version because frankly, we don’t believe it's needed technically, even down to 50mm lower. However, that’s just our opinion but I know that there are other products out there now that change the ball joint position a lot more.

DuckStu, glad you’re having a good run with Global, we’re very proud of them too and will pass on your comments to the guys. It's been a long road but I think you’ll be happy with the new KCA313’s once you get them.

MasterKwan, according to our data, the same part number ball joint is common across both the 07 and 08 models so KCA313 fits both.

And in the interests of goodwill, anyone that is really concerned that our kit has been responsible for the premature wear of their hub or knuckle, contact us directly and we’ll see what we can work out.

Overall, I’d like to thank everyone again for the patience on this one, we’ve done our best to turn this around as quickly as possible and I hope that you have the stock in hand very soon. As mentioned before, your goodwill through this process has been awesome and it really makes our day. :D

Best regards
Whiteline Jim

Wow, sounds like I need to get this taken care of ASAP as I have no desire to buy new hubs.

My got my kit last Spring so I'm assuming it's the recalled version.

Nate, did you have to pay to get the new one? How did you go about it? Surely Whiteline isn't making existing owners buy new ones to replace their mistake? I'm working my way through the Nasioc thread but it's long...

Apparently we're supposed to contact the US whiteline distributor Global Performance Parts. I did that about a month ago and haven't gotten a response....

Way weak. I didn't notice anything out of place when I had the front apart during the swap but I'll be checking it out this weekend. Are you having any problems? I don't have my car lowered a much so maybe that's why I don't have the problems that the guys on Nasioc do?

Either way, thanks for the heads up on this.

The only problems I'm having is prematurely worn balljoint boots. Fitment inside the hub is fine, which is why I'm not too worried. Better safe than sorry though!
