removing airbag?
Anyone done this, I'm in the middle of my tranny swap and while im in there Id like to remove it, plus ive gotta lift the controller anyway to get the shifter wires out.
Remove temporarily or perm? If perm, might as well remove the airbag computer too at the center console.
Removing the airbag itself is easy. Disconnect the battery, let it sit for at least 10min for the airbag system to discharge. Few screws on either side of the airbag, under covers near the horn buttons. 2 more connectors for the airbag and horns and it's out.

Arm yourself with security Torx bits. The kind with the holes drilled in the middle of the bit. Both the bag and the controller are bolted in with them.
Most auto parts stores will have them, but it sucks to have to run them down in the middle of the project.
