I'm no noob, I've done my searching and all I want is verification.

These swaybars will be for my 91 SS (that means turbo cross member up front and droplinks in the rear rather than C shaped endlinks), so I just need verification that they will fit.

Front swaybar part #BSF19X

Rear swaybar part #BSR17XZ

I'm 99.9% sure that the RSB part # is correct, I'm mostly worried about the front.

Well I've confirmed that the RSB will work, but the FSB that I apparently need is part #BSF18. All the other FSBs say "excluding turbo," so it looks like #BSF18 is my only option.

If you go to www.whiteline.com.au and search for parts for our cars, it'll bring up the parts list.

You can get a front 20mm swaybar off a WRX wagon. I don't remember which years though. I have one sitting in my garage. Check NASIOC when you find out which year WRX wagon has the compatible 20mm front bar and then scour the classifieds over on NASIOC. I think I paid like $35 or $40 shipped for mine

Have you actually installed it yet? Just wondering if the jump from an 18mm FSB to a 20mm FSB was actually noticeable...

If I remember correctly, 18mm to 20mm is 50% increase in stiffness so I'd think that would be a noticeable difference but I'm not sure. I haven't out it on the car yet because the car still does not have an engine and I don't want to put it on until I get a 20mm rear bar.

all i can tell you is WLBSF19X and WLBSR17XZ are for my 90 LS FWD so dont order these, not sure which is front and which is rear

Yes, it's noticable. I've got a 20mm WL bar on the front and it did make a difference. Part # is BSF20. There's some pics at the top of the page of the bar.

It is. The front of the car is flatter, and you'll have a bit more ultimate grip. On the other hand, the car will have more of a tendency to push on corner exit without a bigger rear bar. I liked my old car better with 18mm f/r bars than with 20/18.

20mm front and 22mm rear set to soft was an amazing combo on my current car with a good alignment. I need to play around with my swaybars more, but all I drive it on is the occasional onramp these days.

Awesome. Thanks guys. Looks like what I'll do is pick up a WRX wagon front bar and then buy the WL 20mm RSB, unless of course someone can confirm that the RSBs for the 91's and 92-94's are interchangeable (that way I could buy the WL 22mm RSB).

Compatible without swapping the end links and lateral links. I talked to Jamal, and I've decided to buy the 22mm RSB for the 92-94's and try it out. I wouldn't expect the bars to be THAT different, but if they are I'll just head to the junk yard and pick up some lateral links for ~$30.

The bar itself is interchangable, but the KIT is not.

The difference between Whiteline BSR17x and BSR19x is the endlinks. The bar is the same but BSR17x, for the earlier cars, includes endlinks which adapt the bar to work with the earlier style lateral links.

Of course you could buy BSR19x, and swap the lateral links to the later style. You'll still have to get endlinks, unless you already have a set of the later C shaped ones.

By the way, I have BSF18 (20mm) on the front and BSR17xz (20mm adjustable) on my SS. It's well worth upgrading both front and rear bars.

Here is the hardware that came with the BSR17xz kit and an assembled endlink.

As I recall, no. The stock links are kind of Y shaped. I don't think they would work. I remember when I installed my rear bar, it all made sense. But that was a few years ago. It may be that the bolt through the end of the sway bar is of larger diameter than the one on the stock bar. So maybe the stock links could be drilled out? Not sure, sorry.

Hmmmm. Sorry for all the questions, but do you think it would work if I bought the 92-94 bar and (supposing the stock endlinks didn't work) buy the 90-91 endlinks from Whiteline?

Basically, making a 22mm RSB 'kit' using the 92-94 bar and the 90-91 WL endlinks.

I have an idea. I'm going to the Subaru dealer tomorrow and going to ask them what the part number is on a 91 SS rear sway bar and then ask what the part number is on a 94 SS rear sway bar.

If they match, then I'll buy the 22mm RSB and if they don't then I'll have to decide if I'll be ok with a 20mm RSB or if it's worth it to convert everything so I can use a 22mm RSB.

Bottom line is that the stock 90-91 end links will not work with a newer bar. The 90-91 bars had a bushing in the end of the bar, and the end links were U shaped to connect to that bushing.

The later model bar was just metal, and the C type end links connected right to the bar.
