1997 BD5 JDM RSB EJ20R

heya

well i bought a cheap BD5 RSB with a screwed engine

not sure what is actually wrong with it

maybe Big end bearing

how do i know for sure without pulling it out?

it starts and runs is loudticking like i really loud deisel noise

and when u rev it the sound goes quiet while reving maybe to 4 and just as loud as when i started it at idle again



anyways i have 2 options

my friend has a b4 engine i think its ej206 is this the same spec as my ej20r

i know that the ej206 is 260ish hp and the ej20r is 280hp

what is different from the 2 engines and will the ej206 fit and plug and play into my BD5 rsb

which engine is better? is the ej206 the new design same as the newer wrxs v7+ they never seem to run bearings

what are the specs on the 2 engine?

pistons are they both standard forged?
rods same as above?
heads the ej20r has solid lifter what about the ej206

my 3 options are

1 get my friends ej206 from his b4 $800
2 pull down and rebuild my ej20R $???
3 put my ez30r engine in and pay around $4000NZD to get ecu fit and tune

just a question does anybody think its possible to hit 270-280hp just with a link g4 headers and full exhaust and intake? with the ez30r
