Problems removing speedo cable from trans...
So a while back I posted asking how to take off the speedo cable from the trans.

I thought it came off from there at the time. Turns out it breaks part way up, so I took the clip off, breaking it in the process, `:x and it wasn't coming apart at all. So I pulled and pulled until it finally broke. Literally.
So now I'm trying to replace it ......... then this happened:
As you can see, there is no 'bolt' left. the damn thing snapped off.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to get it out.

Start using a medium sized screwdriver and a hammer?.Start driving it in on the edge in a counterclockwise direction to get it to turn? Not sure if you have enough room in there or no for that.

Fortunately, it's just plastic, and I can't even remember how much room is in that area, but see if you can break apart the threaded area, then it'll pull right out.
I broke a camshaft sensor to a Cummins Diesel not too long ago, which looked just about like that, and I drilled it out with a 90* drill to break it free.

The exact same thing happened to me... I don't know if I necessarily recommend the following, but I heated the side of the gearbox around the fitting with map gas. I only heated it just enough so that the plastic turd turned a little mushy, then I folded it in on itself with a screwdriver and pulled it out with needle-nosed pliers. All my other attempts at extraction made a mess and were getting crumbs of crap inside the gearbox...

I'm going to give it a try after work tonight. I'll keep you all posted.

I forgot to mention, I did pull the pass side up on a ramp so the fluid was all on the D side of the case, and I removed the dipstick so the internals could breath easily.
You don't want to heat it much, just enough so it gets soft and you can squash it with a screwdriver.
Anyway, use at your own risk... I was not pleased with the chunks of plastic falling in the box when I tried removing it the other ways.
