Im getting a tune and i need some Opinions :D

Post by SubaruNation »

Hey there fellow legacy addicts,

So i am having a mind battle over where to get my car tuned in Washington and i have narrowed it down to 2 places.

1. http://www.getadomtune.com/index.htm

This guy has a 700whp impreza rsx and def knows what he is doing, and by going to him i will save 25/hr of my own cash.
here is his car here

2. http://www.surgelinetuning.com/
TIm @ Surgeline, everybody knows this guy is a god and i have not heard anything negative about him.

The conflict:

Both of them are very experienced with AEM, and it seems like the dom tune guys might even know more, especially when dealing with more Frankenstein oriented vehicles.

I am sure that both of them will be able to take air pressure differentiation into account when they tune the car, It's essentially the same cost.. but i could save quite a bit of cash getting a dom tune it sounds like. they figured that they could get it done in 2 hours while surgeline told me to budget for 5.

I need some opinions and recommendations here, feel free to vota and send me your 2cents in this thread please, especially those of you that have had your cars tune by either of them, or tuned at all.

i want to know what to expect and take in as much info as i can.

Thanks alot guys :smt040

Zach,

I don't have any comments on the specific two tuners, however I will say that it is extremely important for the tuner to be intimately familar with the tuning software you have.

I learned that the hard way. The tuner that did my Link really didn't know his head from a hole in the wall as for all the little adjustments. If I were to setup all the specific little settings, and just had him tune the main fuel & timing map.....it might have been ok. However I'm now having to go back and retune the entire car AGAIN. I'm going to do, or try to do most of this myself....but still it's a huge pain in the ass....and has made this standalone project just really be a pain.

Tim did our Impreza. It is a very reliable tune with good power.

I have heard good things about Maxwell power also. Dom did our legacy when he was at Kito Auto Sports.

I would have no issues with either.
Yes I have too many Subarus
