job rant

Post by joeWM »

fuck my life,
i work for a columbia dist as a merchandiser(fill the beer shelves). usually its kinda stressful, but still manageable. BUT today three fucking people decided to call in. 2 had food poisoning, and the other didnt have gas or money to buy gas with, stupid motherfucker. so my route totally gets fucked, first i get sent to the biggest account that we have, which is fred meyer hollywood, where there was a load about 15 boards and they were already two people short, with one leaving. had to finish beer, do soda, then do wine.left that store at about 1(started at 6am), then off to the second store alone, did everything myself. then the third once again alone. ended up finishing at 7. so basicly what i cant understand is why does my team have the least amount of people in the busiest and biggest part of town. why cant the biggest distributor in the state hire a few more people. fuckers.

I learned that shit rolls downhill. If you are at the bottom, that pile of shit is rather large.

Sounds shitty man. Does it at least pay well?

It's funny you posted this up because 10 minutes ago I was just ranting about my job to my friend. I deal cards and craps at a casino and it's the worst yet the best job I've had thus far at age 22.

It pays the best and that is why it's the best job I've had at roughly $18/hour. But the customer service and shit that I go through and have to grit my teeth and try to smile and put up with is unbelievable. This is my 5th job so far and I've been doing it for almost 3 years. It's fucking miserable and depressing to see people throw away their lives at the casino day in and day out but I keep doing it because I can't come up with a better alternative with similar or better pay. I've never had a job that was this stressful and got me down so much. You would never think it could be this bad but I guess it also depends on your personality and I'm certainly not cut out for this job.

I hate just about every single customer that comes in the door basically before I even see them. I want to strangle them all and I have to sit there and think of all the things I could do with all the money they blow away and the worst part is they blame it all on me! They accept no responsibility for their actions and act like little kids throwing hissy fits when they lose. And it's all my fault...

Fuck I could go on and on and on but I'll stop there.

I hate my job too, I think just about everyone does.

Stick it out until you can find something better. I personally would like to flip houses for a living and be my own boss. That's one of the only things I can come up with that would make me happy. Working for myself and building/remodeling/landscaping things.

One day I'll persure my dream job. For now I'll hate my life lol. Just kidding, it could always be worse. Almost always.

One thing that gets me through the nights at my job is thinking about all the cool shit I've been able to buy for my subaru because of this job. It helps a little.
