help heater control issues

Post by jeffast »

ok, so i have no control over where the blend doors send the air, my car is stuck on the defrost setting, no matter which setting the module is on a/c, bi-level, etc. air still blows on the windshield.what are my options for problems/ Is this a common failure? and is it more likely the vent solenoid in the dash or the heater control or something completely unrelated. thanks in advance for all the help.

Possibly the solder joints in the control module have broken / come loose / etc. It's a fairly common thing. Search, several threads detailing the problem/fix.
Also check for the obvious things that nothing is blocking the mechanical levers which move the air flow doors back under the dash, etc.
