So I've searched quite a bit and am still not fully understanding this...
I'm doing a 5mt/4eat swap on my '91 Turbo Legacy. The 5-speed transmission I'm putting in comes from a '94 Turbo Legacy.
I'm pretty sure I have the 3:90 gears in mine, and I know for a fact that I have the LSD rear diff.
Is the 5mt from the '94 going to have the same gearing as mine or do I need to get the rear diff too? Or is there a way to swap out the front transfer case on the 5mt so I can keep my LSD rear end?
3:90 vs 4:11 on 5mt swap?

There should be a sticker of the trans bellhousing with a code. Search for how to decode it and it should reveal the ratio. The dif as you know should have a sticker indicating it's ratio. OR put it all together and while still on jackstands put it in gear and watch the wheels go round, they go round the same amount front and rear then it's good.
