heater core remove on a 83 wagon?

does anyone know how to get the dang heater core out of the car. i broke it when i was connnecting he hoses. it is broke right in between the firewall. i removed all the radio stuff and centerconsel.(can't spell) how does all the black plastic stuff that is around the heater core? Please help!

I think you have to lift the unit out with the shrouding, then remove the heater core, disconnecting stuff as you go to get it out.

A little different set up as of where all the bolts are. But still pretty much the same way of going about it. So it doesn't really matter what year.

Your going to have to remove the dash to get to it. Then you have to take the clips off the black box(it's what holds the heater core don't know what it's called), separate it and replace it and put it back together and make sure you get all the flaps back in the right place.
