4wd or 2wd

Post by spicer »

i have a 92 gt legacy turbo with a vf8 ej20 turbo engine.

now prob is i cant tell if its 4wd or 2wd as very time i step on the gas on loose gravel the front wheels spin up, or if im at a stop sign or at a standing start on the road, when on a hard take off and on boost the fronts just smoke up!!!

any ideas on why is this?

Look underneith... Do you have a driveshaft and rear diff? If you do, is it an AT with the FWD fuse stuck in? If not, sounds normal-ish....

It certainly should be awd.
did you make absolutely sure the entire drive shaft is there? Sometimes, if experiencing bad torque binding and if the fuse doesn't work out, people will remove the rear-most section of drive shaft to make it fwd and stop the binding.

Are you in the US? is this a modded USDM Legacy, or is it a JDM/EDM with stock ej20 & vf8?
Just curious.
