new hood and wrx scoop

Post by jdmellor28 »

hey so if you havent figured it out yet trying to find a new turbo hood for the 94 legacy is like never going to happen . so i got my hands on a new hood for the non turbo car and did some chopping !
old hood was beat up

I did some grinding on the factory scoop mounts so it would sit on the hood flat

the last scoop that someone put on the old hood came off at highway speed :( so i decided to go with the pop rivits ! :D

i have a wrx top mount going under this new hood and scoop .. but thats another subject :-D

I used rivets as well. Works great!

looks good!

Those rivets look way more trustworthy than what I used...But I havent had a problem with mine flying off yet *knocks on wood*

yea, the stock scoop looks liek someone slit a hole in the hood with a butter knife :D. If I ever own a 92+ again it will defiantely get the WRX scoop, but I just can't bring myself to putting one on my 91

rivets are my new fav! next to zip ties ! :-D haha its stuck on there way strong . what did you use to hold your scoop on subieprice88 ?

and mattheww044 i like the 91 front end soooo much better ! but i do think i would chop it up and go with the big scoop ! mostly cuz im working on the wrx top mount set up .
