coolant temp sensor

Post by lucas »

i understand that there are 2 of these sensors. One for the gauge and the other for the fans. Im assuming that the one that controls the fans is the one that needs to be replace after a while. I just replace the purge solenoid, knock sensor, and someone had mentions the CTS. can some one tell me if thats the correct one. thanks

The one that needs replacing is the one on the crossover pipe.

Aren't they both in the crossover pipe, Doug?

It's the 2 pin one, with a normal type of connector. Most I have seen a brown in color and noticably larger than the other one. The temp guage one is smaller and just a simple single pin with a typical "spade" type of connector.

Oh..just for posterity....technically the ECU controls the fans directly. The sensor itself goes to the ECU and is used for many other functions than just the fans.
