Clutch type diff vs. Viscus?

Whats the difference between a clutch type LSD diff vs. a viscus type LSD diff.? which is better?

I refer you to this excellent write up:

It's about using Subaru LSD's in Datsuns, because they also use R160 Diffs, not to worry, it covers the different types of LSD's

depends on what you want to do with your car.....
if you are building an offroad type rig, go clutch i say....
if it is mainly concrete and asphalt.....vlsd

the differences are obvious i hope.ya know, clutch vs. viscuos......


i dunno , i have had both on cars, and do not have an issue with either if i was using them for what they were designed for.when i needed more i welded it.but thats a whole other talk show.......

Clutch type is always better.
