Feeler: 92 SS 5spd in CO

Post by ImprezaRSC »

I have a new job that requires some travel and can't be spread between three project cars. One has to go.

Image

I'm looking at selling a mostly running 92 T-leg 5spd. The water pump went out. I even have all the parts you need! (Timing belt, oil pump, water pump, all seals, etc.) I recently put in a new clutch, RS springs, and new front GR2 struts. It rides nice, but that puking coolant behind the timing cover AT the water pump IS the water pump. It's time for some love under the timing belt cover.

I rebuilt the car 95% and just don't have the time to finish it up. I won't be around much to enjoy it, either. There's 193k on the motor. It doesn't knock or smoke. I want it to go to a good home. This is a pristine example of a nice 92 SS.

Mods:

Turbo timer
Electronic Boost controller
JDM WAIC
Team dynamics 16in wheels
2.5RS springs + tophats
GR2 struts
98RS 5spd
Apexi N1 intake
3in catback
flex fuel tuned
Clutchmaster stg 1 clutch disc
2004 Legacy front seats (matching grey + black)
Upgraded stereo, speakers, and amp.

Runs 14psi comfortably.
Screams on E85.

I want it to go to a loving home. I may end up not having to sell it, however I'd like to see what kind of interest there might be. This was meant to be a nice, used commuter. You could throw on a bigger turbo and downpipe and have a damn quick car. I don't need that temptation....I really really don't ;).

I'm asking $2500 in Denver.

It still has the stock 440s. I put in a Walbro 255 a while ago, too. It's got all the right stuff. I just don't have the time to love it like it deserves. This would be a very rewarding car for the right person.

You'll also be helping me put a transmission in project car #3 ;). Ole #2 here needs a good home.

Thanks. I might be looking for a nother project. So are you running full tanks of e85 with those injectors or just partial? And who did the tune?

I did the tune. E70 is where it's happy. There's not much to it, really. The IDC goes to 85% on the readout @ redline. It could use 550s, but I'm not stressing the turbo or the motor. 14psi feels quite healthy, even with a stock dp. Plenty of fuel capacity and the right plugs is all it took.

His name is Joe. He's a local (non-pirate) and might chime in here eventually.

You guys and your Colorado "rust" pft, that's a sweet car and clean!

I had to find a new shell from the high sodium roads here in Missouri... It's true, salt can cause heart attacks, but it's from the rust on the car, not the salt in the blood...

Rust, rusty, and rusted are three distinct levels, I take it? ;)

Joe did a great job on his first timing belt and water pump. I helped him get the car tuned up last night working on the boost controller settings. Low boost is happy but there's some spiking on high boost going up steep hills. It's fine on low boost going up hill, though.

I'm glad to see it went to a loving home.
