I know this kind of a double post but I'm afraid it'll get lost in the other thread and I don't want to clutter up the nice shifter fork thread that has already been put together.
As you know, I took the plunge and completely opened up a tranny to clean it out and make sure it was right. Now it's ready to go back together and I'd like to get that done this weekend. I'm starting to get close to getting the famous Radio Flyer back on the road .
But I can't seem to find the torque specs for the case bolts on Josh's site. I don't know, maybe I'm just being an idiot and overlooking them but I don't see the page. It seems that the page I need isn't listed, i.e. I can find the page before and the page after but not the middle page. I've got everything cleaned and ready to go back together but just need some torque specs for the main case, i.e. two halves.
Any help or guidance you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
I had a look through some manuals but there weren't any tables of torque figures I could cut and paste for you, they were all spread right through the assembly procedure.
Best thing would be to download a manual.
What car and transmission is it and I'll see if I have one for you.
Thanks for the reply Log. I figured with it being the holiday season it might be a tough one to get an answer on. I need to get it at least put back together and off the bench this weekend so I'm just going to torque them all to 30 ft-lbs for now and go back as I need to.
The main part of the tranny though is a standard 02' WRX. I'm marrying a phase 1 tail housing to it but I already have those specs.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. This is probably one of those things that should be right .
Log, the link you posted is AWESOME! I have downloaded it and it will get added to my library. Many thanks for it as it gives me a firm footing for this and also is a great reference for my 93' which also has an 02' tranny it.
We'll now get to see how good my tranny skills are .
Log, I got it all put back together last night. I'm hoping I did everything okay and it'll last. Tightened per the specs and per the order, etc. etc. So we'll see .
Matt, yeah - the build should be great. I got my netbook for tuning last weekend and will be ordering all my wideband stuff next week. Parts will be going out for ceramic coating beginning of Feb .
