Socal FS: 1993 LS Sedan, 1992 L Wagon, +Extras!

Post by 93Subadan »

I am selling a 1992 Legacy L Wagon and a 1993 Legacy LS Sedan plus service manuals, some upgrades, and spare parts for around $1,000 or I’ll trade for a running Ford or Chevy truck. Sorry this is long, but I want you to have a good idea of the conditions of the cars.

Pictures of the cars and rims are here:

1993 Legacy LS Sedan

The Good – 1993 Legacy LS Sedan has a great interior and is in excellent mechanical condition. I am the second owner (since 88,000 miles) and have nearly complete service records since new. Prior to my ownership, the car was serviced only at the dealer. I have owned 3 other Subarus including 2 other Legacys and have a complete set of service manuals, so the car has undergone regular maintenance per the service intervals given in the owner’s manual. A list of the recent maintenance, in addition to the regular service intervals, is:

*Starter solenoid rebuilt – 11/7/2009 145,817 miles
*New oxygen sensor installed – 4/4/2009 136, 807 miles
*Installed recently rebuilt rear calipers from a turbo Legacy as well as new rear vented rotors and new ceramic pads on all 4 corners. Stainless steel brake lines were installed along with new KYB AGX struts. 2/3/2009 133,917 miles
*Installed K&N air filter, new alternator belt, new timing belt, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, valve cover gaskets, crankshaft oil seal, cam shaft oil seals, water pump seal, oil pan seal, transmission pan seal, replaced transmission filter, and oil filler tube seal. 3/29/2008 116,500 miles

Has an Alpine satellite, DVD, AM/FM head unit installed, pre-wired for XM, and comes with free XM radio until December.

The Bad - leaky rear main oil seal. Also the trunk does not unlatch from the interior and the moon roof leaks.

The Ugly - this car has been in many minor accidents and the exterior shows it. One accident tweaked the front frame slightly and was professionally repaired. Many of the dings were spray painted over to prevent rusting; although, there is minor surface rust on the passenger side rear quarter panel as the result of one accident.

1992 Legacy L Wagon

The Good - I purchased the 1992 Subaru Legacy L Wagon as a shell to transfer all of the sedan’s mechanical and interior components into. So it has a very nice exterior! There are two dents on the hatch and one on the driver’s side fender. All of the dents look pullable and are the only spots of minor surface rust on the entire car! The rest is rust free and it looks easy enough to sand the rust around the dents. The car has about 199,000 miles on it and the engine runs fine.

The Bad - the transmission only runs in forward gears and there may be problems with the torque converter (occasionally has issues going uphill). The engine needs a MAF.

The Ugly - the interior is very dirty with some stains and tears, but may be serviceable.

The plan was to swap everything, including interior, into the 1992 Wagon to make a very clean and well running car. Times change though, and I really need a truck to haul supplies for my house and yard, so I’m forced to make room for another car. Along with the cars you’ll get low mileage KYB AGX struts (installed on the sedan), Kumho Ecsta tires that have only 15,000 miles on them mounted on 16” American Racing rims, a Daniel Stern RIK kit with new Osram H4 bulbs, the complete service manual set, one set of OEM headgaskets, one rear main oil seal, and a few oil filters.
