O2 sensor placement in new DP

Post by Perkul8r »

I am in the process of putting a turbo on my 98 legacy l. My question is with it being OBD2, where would i place the 02 sensors? I know there is one in front of and after the cat on the stock exhaust, but that wont be there with the down pipe. I appreciate any info, Thanks.

You can customize the DP and weld your own "bung" as they call it on to the downpipe. My DP had an 02 bung though....

Where would i put the 2 o2 sensors though. I have the First o2 sensor which is in front of the cat, and the secondary which is behind the cat. When adding a downpipe could i just move the cat down further and lengthen the wires?

Yea, I don't see why not. Other people will have amore definitive answer, I've never had to do that myself.

I am just dont want it to throw any CELS when done, I know that may be a side affect, but if i can avoid it that would be great.

I very well could. I would just have to move it. which is fine. I was also thinking of replacing it with a high flow cat. But i have no idea on which one would be fairly affordable and work the best.

yea, what are you going to do about EM? Are you doing a swap or just turbo-ing your N/A?

At this point in time i am going to turbo an NA motor. Not the one that i have currently in my car but a different one. I would like to do the swap but cant find one cheap enough. I know i will still have some amount of money tied up into the NA 2.2, bbut not enought to make it more resonable to do a swap. And EM is still up in the are. I have seen a couple running an upgraded KNock sensor like the J&S safe gaurd, and also running at least a SAFC. The car will be tuned. And not by me, i would probably blow it up right away. lol.
