hydraulic clutch swap
I am planing on replacing the clutch in my beloved 94 legacy 5spd. I've been looking around and I like the gear ratios of some of the newer gt's and rs's that have the same fd ratios, and It's a lot more easy to find a used low mileage transmission from the newer models. From what I understand subaru switched to a hydraulic clutch after 96, does anyone know if I can make a hydraulic clutch transmission work in my cable clutch car? Do I need to convert my car to a hydraulic clutch system, or can swap out the release fork? Any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Welcome,
Yeah you may need to move the pivot ball on the transmission. There should be two bosses in the transmission, one will be for the hydraulic setup, one will be for the cable setup.
