Swapping out rear subframe

Post by drsevy »

Finally found a rear cross member / subframe to swap my rusted one for.

Question - it looks like if I just unhook the rear exhaust and the 4 inboard ends of the control arms and 2 differential bolts can I remove it after dropping the 4 upper bolts and supporting the differential ?

I really don't wanna take the whole rear end out if I don't have to ?

if ur changing the subframe. everything has to be dropped. or disconnect everything from the subframe and drop it out. swap over ur new subframe to the rear, bolt back up... its easier to do all this when the entire rear is out of the car. unless u have a lift.
