Viper 5901 Remote Start Help

Post by NW_Legacy »

Well i have been installing a Viper 5901 remote start alarm into my gf 93 legacy wagon automatic. First time installing one and everything seemed to be going ok. Alarm works, door locks work, everything works except for the remote start.

As far as i can tell i have wired everything correctly but the remote start seems to be not working. I have come to the conclusion that the starter output (violet wire), when starting with remote, is not getting the signal. The car starts just fine when using the key and then the violet wire puts out the volts for the starter but when using the remote to start it we get nothing. We get ignition to come on and it does the try 3 times thing.

So my question is what exactly sends the signal to the violet wire telling it to send the volts to start the car?

We have done the error checking and its telling us that we have a error 3 which is too low of rpm's. we have wired the tach wire, even directly to the coil. and had it learn the tach. also we do have set in automatic, since it is.

So if you can offer any tips, hints, ideas it would be appreciated. If you need anymore info to help let me know im sure im leaving something out. Thanks!

What wire have you hooked things up to?

Can you point it out in this diagram?
