EJ22T machining limits

Post by sobe_death »

When boring the turbo block, what is the maximum diameter that you can take the bore out to? It appears that the steel sleeves have plenty of material available.

I'm just wondering if you can take the additional 2.5mm in order to squeeze a piston from the EJ257 in there?

The general consensus seems to be about .030 over. The factory service manual will have the recommended max, and I would stick close to it.

I, personally, would never chance EJ25 bore sizes without sleeving.

The most common (non stock) setup is EJ25D crank with custom pistons for 2.35 liter. I don't think there is enough material to go 3mm over

Whats your ultimate power goal?
